How to Obtain Services
Initial ScreeningsInitial Screenings are now available without an appointment on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays each week from 10:00am to 2:00pm for first-time students. Initial Screenings operate as a walk-in service so students can be seen to discuss their current difficulty with a counselor to determine the best resource available to meet their needs. Please see instructions below to access this service.
If you are a returning student to the Counseling Center, call the office at (570) 941-7620 to schedule an appointment to resume counseling.
All services are provided from the beginning of the Fall semester to the conclusion of the Spring semester, including Intercession. During summer, the Counseling Center still remains available for consultation and support. For additional information, contact the Counseling Center at 570-941-7620.
What to Expect on Your First Visit!
- Make sure you have at least an hour of availability
- Come to the Counseling Center Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays, between 10:00am-2:00pm.
- Let the staff know you are here for an Initial Screening Appointment
- You will be asked to fill out forms
- Once the forms are completed, you will meet with a counselor for approximately 30 minutes
- The counselor will assess your current needs and provide you with options/recommendations based on those needs
