Learning Outcomes

  1. Knowledge: The student will demonstrate knowledge and comprehension in several basic and applied fields of Physics.
  2. Problem Solving: The student will demonstrate problem-solving skills in several basic and applied fields of Physics.
  3. Laboratory Work: The student will demonstrate good experimental technique, including proper use of equipment, performance of experiment and analysis of results.  Furthermore the student will assess experimental uncertainty and make meaningful comparisons between experiment and theory and thereby more fully understand their observations of physical phenomena.
  4. Written Communications: The student will demonstrate effective written communication skills through clear and concise problem solving, reports written to satisfy the requirements of a variety of laboratory courses and topics, and acceptable research papers.
  5. Oral Communications: The student will demonstrate effective oral communication skills in oral presentations in courses, seminars, and at scientific meetings.
  6. Professional Development: The student will demonstrate the protocols of the professional physicist by attending meetings and giving papers
