Where did you do your internship?
PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC)
KPMG

Time period for the internship / Number of hours?
PWC: January 2014 –  April 2014 about 60 hours a week
KPMG: June 2014- August 2014 about 40 hours a week

Responsibilities/Duties as an intern?

PWC: I worked as an audit intern in the New York City office. I worked at the client site and I did a lot of confirmations for bank accounts. I also had to do a lot of calling to investors of the client.
KPMG:I worked as a tax intern in the Roseland, NJ office. I worked on one of their largest clients and input a lot of data. I did not work during busy season at this client so it was less intense as my other one.

Positives/Negatives
PWC: I loved working in the city. However, PwC was not for me. The environment was not something I wanted in a company
KPMG: I loved everything about KPMG. The people made me feel welcome and they helped me through everything. Even the partners knew my name. It was amazing.

Skills you have developed.
Through my two internships I have learned a lot. It has made me more professional and helped my communication skills. I have never been big with networking but my internships have helped me become better at this.

Describe the environment.
The environment at Pwc was nice but I felt so small since the office was so big. It’s nothing against them, KPMG was just more fitting for my personality.

How has your internship changed you?
Like I mentioned, both my internships have prepared me for the real world by making me more professional.

What steps did you take in seeking out this internship?
Cheryl Collarini has helped me more than I can ever explain! She helped me with my interviewing skills and made sure I was on college central network and my resume was up to date. I interviewed with PwC on campus and KPMG I had contact with through Rothestein Kass (they got bought out during my internship)

Did Career Services help you search for or secure your internship?
Yes! They also helped me after when I was in between two job offers!

Any recommendations for students looking to start the internship process.
Go see Cheryl and the other career services staff. Also, get involved in campus and reach out to companies you are interested in early! I reached out to Rothstein Kass my sophomore year and shadowed a 51做厙 Alumni.
