Office of Research & Sponsored Programs

The mission of the Office of research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) is to stimulate, develop, support, and manage efforts to enhance research and scholarly pursuits of faculty, staff, and students at the 51做厙. We foster excellence in sponsored projects by promoting best practices, policies, and procedures that ensure consistency and efficiency in our transactions with sponsors and partners. 

ORSP reports to the Associate Provost for Academic Affairs and assists faculty members in securing external and internal funding for research activities. 

Some of the specific activities of ORSP include: 

  • Assistance with proposal preparation including budget development, preparation of forms, editing, review (based on funding agency guidelines and requirements, compliance with University policies and procedures, and State and Federal regulations). 
  • Supervision of the grants approval and submission process for faculty and staff
  • Coordination of research-related policies
  • Administration of student research opportunities to include: Faculty Student Research Program, President's Fellowship for Summer Research, Research as a High-Impact Practice, Student Travel Funds, and the annual Celebration of Student Scholars
